footprints

 Footprints in the sand

Footprints in the sand

One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord.
Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky.
In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand.
Sometimes there were two sets of footprints,
other times there were one set of footprints.
This bothered me because I noticed
that during the low periods of my life,
when I was suffering from
anguish, sorrow or defeat,
I could see only one set of footprints.
So I said to the Lord,
‘You promised me Lord,
that if I followed you,
you would walk with me always.
But I have noticed that during the most trying periods of my life
there have only been one set of footprints in the sand.
Why, when I needed you most, you have not been there for me?’
The Lord replied,
‘The times when you have seen only one set of footprints in the sand,
is when I carried you.’

I'm sure many of you all have heard this but I love it and I just thought I'd share it =) Hope it was a blessing to you.

Be a classic

clas·sic
adjective: classic
judged over a period of time to be of the highest quality and outstanding of its kind; of the first or highest quality, class, or rank

The definition of classic is stated above^ something of utmost value that has always been valuable through time and will always be. We need to be classics. As Christians we most be "of the highest quality" so to speak. Classics are worth a lot of money- they are valuable.
I want to be a classic Christian! You might ask what is that? Well I'd describe a classic christian as someone like this: One who stands firm in their beliefs. One who never wavers in the test of time. Someone who has high value. One who is like our King. One who does not follow the world but God. One who is trustworthy, honest, and true. One who is "real" in their walk with God.
Be a classic.
I just like that phrase.
Classics are treasured things. They hold a place of high value. Classics are usually things that have been around for a long time but are unchanged by this world. We need to be like that in a way- unchanged by the world. We need to stand firm in the Lord and not loose our value so to speak. The world is just getting worse and worse not better! So we need to stay strong and firm in "classical" ways instead of moving along with the world.
As you already probably know the value of things in America are going down; the dollar is going down and the economy is not very good. Things are loosing value.
Don't loose value. Gain it.
You can loose it by changing into this world but you can gain it by following God and reading his word.

We need to be rare classics in this dying world. Good Godly morals are becomes less and less encouraged now'a'days. We must stick to the paths of the Lord, and not follow the path of man that leads to destruction!

Be a classic; be unique. Be something that has great worth.
We can all be classics if we purpose in our hearts to follow God and his will. He can use us in amazing ways if we'll just let him.

Don't be a loser; be a weirdo

.
Ya from the title of this post your probably thinking, "what on earth is this girl talking about?"

well when I first heard this I thought the same thing. What does it mean?
I want to base this post off an amazing message I heard while I was at camp that was preached by Al Stone. I will never forget his message or the title- Don't be a loser, be a weirdo.
His message really spoke to me & I just wanted to share some of the things he taught me and share some of my own thoughts.

So many Christians now a'days sound, look, and act just like the rest of the world. This shouldn't be. We need to be DIFFERENT. We can't ever influence the world by trying to be like it.

People should know you are DIFFERENT! We need to stand out and stand up for the cause of Christ.
Don't be a loser, be a weirdo.
People say different is wrong. The world says come be like us. Christians keep on moving more and more towards the world that you can barely even tell Christians and the world apart. I've heard of some people who have said that they are Christians but you wouldn't even know it by the way they live! Christians should talk, look, act, and live different from the world. "And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. "- Rom.12:2

Christians have been persecuted all through history. The world doesn't like true Christians. They will say that we are "losers" for not being like them, and they will call us "weird" or "usual". But true Christians are not losers, but we should want to be different. The world should see a difference in us. The world shouldn't feel like we are the same, we need to stick out. We need to be "weirdos". Who cares what the world cares about us? You shouldn't want the world to think your normal!
Some of us Christians are losers. We aren't striving to serve God in all aspects of our life, we are just blending in with the world. Not taking a stand; just blending in.
Don't blend in! Stand out!
People will think your weird, people will mock you, and hurt you. But we shouldn't be looking at that. We should be looking to Jesus.

Don't be a loser, don't be one of those Christians who take Christ so lightly and just blend in with the world. People say that when Christians act like the world we will be able to reach it for Christ. Well uh that's totally wrong. We start acting like the world and it will change us, not the other way around.

Don't be the one who gives into peer pressure, don't be the one who claims that they are a Christian but your life and actions suggest otherwise. Don't be a loser. Be the one who stands up against the world, the one who is courageous enough to continue to serve God no matter what others think of them. The one who is not ashamed to be different; the one who wants to be different!

Go show the world that you serve a might God! Yes; troubles will arise. Yes; people will mock you. Yes; you will be tempted to give up. Yes; you will be an outlaw to the world. but it will be worth it. The greatest joy is to serve God with all you've got. We can't do that while still living for the world.

Be different. People will call you weird. But just smile and be glad.
Be what the world thinks is a weirdo. God knows your heart. Just don't be a loser.
Don't strive for the world to like you; you don't want that kind of attention. You want the world to look at you and say "that girl/boy is different. She's not like us. She's a weirdo." because if the world thinks your weird it most likely means your doing right. If the world praises your actions it most likely means your doing wrong in God's eyes.

Fun!
I am 15.
Yep.
I can barely believe it =)

I had my birthday this Saturday! It was a wonderful day. We celebrated my birthday Thursday by going to the fair and then Friday my wonderful mom took me shopping for presents =)
I got some adorable clothes from Ross & Rue 21.
& then Saturday night we went over to my friends house to eat and play volleyball!

Have any of you all been to the fair? This was my first time going and I absolutely loved it!
I got to try something I've wanted to try for like ever- deep fried Oreos. Yes; I know it sounds gross but oh my goodness! THEY WERE SO GOOD. The rest of my family didn't like them but I thought they were heavenly =) We also got to see some cool shows! There was a really cool circus included with the fair admission and it was so neat! I got to see a real bear ride a motorcycle, a monkey drive a carriage led by a dog, and a while bunch of other unique things =) It was really fun and interesting.

The most beautiful thing about the fair was all the rides lit up at night time! It was gorgeous! My family went on paddle boats around the beautiful pond and the lights shining off the Ferris wheel and other rides was just magical! They also had fireworks go off and that even added to the beauty =) I absolutely loved the fair!

Leaves falling//Rain pouring

leaves

The rain pitter-pattered against the window. Wind shook the trees. She pulled on her boots in glee. She ran to the door and jerked it open. Leaves flew up, rain dripped on her nose, and the chilly wind whipped her hair around her face.
She smiled.
Fall. She loved fall.
She ran out onto her porch she lifted her eyes to the sky. The mixture of rain and the beautiful colors of autumn leaves met her eyes.
Leaves swirled off the trees. They danced around her as if in magic. The rain slowed. now just trickling down.
"This," She whispered, "is perfect. God's perfect creation."

 a road in autumn
October gave a party;
The leaves by hundreds came,—
The Ashes, Oaks, and Maples,
And leaves of every name.
The sunshine spread a carpet,
And every thing was grand;
Miss Weather led the dancing;
Professor Wind, the band....
The sight was like a rainbow
New-fallen from the sky....

Hope you are having a lovely autumn season =D

lessons in history

Well today I was doing school and I was reading in History about the declaration of Independence and things like that. And of course I wasn't expecting to find anything very interesting since I had read about the founding of our country only about one million times. but this time I actually thoroughly enjoyed reading my history book. I read today something very true that caught my eye. It was part of a speech that John Adams had written about the declaration of the Independence. Something he said really made me stop and think and I thought I'd share his words with you....well at least some of them I won't post the whole speech on here.

"...I am well aware of the toil, the blood, and treasure that it will cost to maintain this Declaration and support and defend these states; yet through all the gloom, I can see the rays of light and glory;that the end is worth all the means; that prosperity will triumph in the day's transaction..."

~ John Adams

Two things stuck out to me about this speech, and the events surrounding this speech. First of all I just want to talk about these amazing and encouraging words. John Adams wrote "yet through all the gloom, I can see the rays of light and glory"
Isn't this also so true for us even today? Life sometimes gets gloomy and we feel like giving up. I'm sure that the Americans felt this way in their country. They were being controlled by the British and they wanted freedom...but freedom isn't free. The Americans fought hard for our freedom! They didn't just give up when things looked gloomy, they fought on and they fought hard! and it payed of. They won the war; yes lives were lost, yes people suffered, but in the end we were free. All that pain and suffering was not in vain! Rays of light and glory shone through and because of those soldiers who gave their lives and never gave up we are still a free country. God delivered America out of the hands of the British. and he can deliver us out of any trial we go through in life.

We built this country for and on him. He WAS what America stood for. but today America has slid so far from God.That's the second thing I want to talk about. What I read in History today really opened my eyes to the sad reality of what state America is in today. Men like John Adams, George Washington, Patrick Henry, and Paul Revere were amazing God fearing American political heroes. They stood for more then just this countries freedom, they stood for God and they openly shared their faith. They founded this country and they founded it all for the glory of God. Many of the signers of the Declaration of Independence were Christians all joining together to create a country that would flourish under the grace of God.

but look at where we are now. Our leaders do not fear or rely on God for anything. America has kicked God out of our government, our schools, and our homes. They teach evolution instead of creation, they have forbidden public prayer in schools, and have outlawed bibles also. America has lost sight of the whole reason we founded our country. America is farther from God then it ever has been and if you haven't noticed our country is getting worse and worse because of it. We can learn so much from History. We can learn so much from people in history. Just reading John Adams speech encouraged me, helped me, and also burdened me for our country. These men fought so hard for our country and it prospered because they were relying on God! But now our country is falling apart because we have lost sight of God.
City Silhouettes by Jasper James
Many people say "God bless America" and yes we need God's mercy and grace in our country. but what we should really be saying is "America bless God"
God has been blessing America for years. It's time we started blessing God.
