Swingin' into spring

So spring is finally in the air! And I am so happy. Spring isn't usually my favorite season but I feel like this winter has lasted so long and I'm just so ready for it! So I thought I'd share some springy things from my Pinterest board :)

 Pretty paints.
All the colors of spring =) What is the first color that comes to your mind when you think of the word spring? Mine has always been green. I can't wait till Easter either! I have such a pretty dress for Easter and I just can't wait to wear it again.

Flower halo, blue skies.
I've been wanting to take a spring photoshoot for so long! I really want a flower crown thing but I haven't been able to find one =/ plus I don't have any one to take the pictures.

Follow me

So me and my family have been at a missions conference here in Georgia and last night one of the ladies sang this song "follow me" and I absolutely loved it. I never had heard it before and the words just really spoke to me! Anyway I just thought I'd share the lyrics on here. Maybe they'll touch your hearts like it touched mine.

I traveled on a lonely road and no one seemed to care.
The burden on my weary back had bowed me to despair;
I oft complained to Jesus how folks were treating me,
And then I heard Him say so tenderly,
"My feet were also weary, upon the Calvary road;
The cross became so heavy, I fell beneath the load,
Be faithful weary pilgrim the morning I can see,
Just lift your cross and follow close to me."

"I work so hard for Jesus" I often boast and say
"I've sacrificed a lot of things to walk the narrow way,
I gave up fame and fortune, I'm worth a lot to Thee"
And then I hear Him gently say to me,
"I left the throne of glory and counted it but loss,
My hands were nailed in anger upon a cruel cross,
But now we'll make the journey with your hand safe in mine,
So lift your cross and follow close to me.

Oh Jesus if I die upon a foreign field someday,
'Twould be no more than love demands, no less could I repay,
"No greater love hath mortal man than for a friend to die"
These are the words He gently spoke to me,
"If just a cup of water I place within your hand
Then just a cup of water is all that I demand.
But if by death to living they can Thy glory see,
I'll take my cross and follow close to Thee.

This just reminds me so much that even when we think we are going through so much- God went through so much too. And he did it for us! He is so worthy for us to pick up our cross-our lives-and follow him.

Our time is Now

"What are you doing today that will make a better tomorrow?"

I don't know about you all but as for me I am a HUGE procrastinator. I'm always putting things off till tomorrow...and I greatly wish I did not do this! I've been trying very hard this year to try to stop putting things off till tomorrow and do what you can today!

Procrastination can apply to many areas in your life. People trying to get fit often put off exercising off till "tomorrow" and then they often just never do it. But putting things off can go a lot farther than just getting little things done in your life. It infects you future. I want to start making a better future TODAY. Today you can make a difference in your life-and in others. You might say that you're too young or that you'll start trying to make a difference when your older. But YOU can start TODAY.

God needs young people to serve him. Too many teenagers put off surrendering their live to God until their older...and then very often they never even do. You can make a difference for God today. Our time is NOW.
God needs young people like YOU to go out in the world and make a difference for him! And he doesn't want you to put it off till tomorrow-he wants you to start today.

Our futures depend on what we do today and tomorrow. Every day we are contributing to our future. What are you contributing to it today? Just think about where you were a year did something or someone did something that made your life the way it is now. Every single thing is being used for the future of our lives!
And the future is always beginning now.
What are you doing for your future today?
Are you making today count for a better tomorrow?
Serve God today and all your tomorrows will be ok. Just keep on putting your unknown future in the hands of a all-knowing God. He's got a great future for you! You just must work towards it today.

Do something today that your future self will thank you for.

At every turn

Book review for: At every turn
By: Anne Mateer
 Genre: Christian fiction, Historical fiction

Back cover description:

Caught up in a whirlwind of religious fervor when two missionaries speak at her church, Alyce Benson impetuously pledges three thousand dollars to mission work in Africa. She's certain her wealthy father will simply hand her the money. But when he refuses, she must either stand up in front of the congregation and admit failure, or raise the money herself.

Alyce harbors a secret passion for speed and automobiles. It's 1916, and the latest advancements in car engines allow some to post speeds upwards of seventy miles per hour! When she discovers her father's company has sponsored a racing car that will compete in several upcoming events--races in which the driver will be paid and could win as much as five thousand dollars in prize money--she conspires with her father's mechanic, Webster, to secretly train and compete.

But as Alyce comes across needs in her own community, money slips through her fingers faster than she can earn it. And when her friends cast aspersions on Webster's past, she believes she might have trusted the wrong man with her secret. Will Alyce come up with the money in time, or will she have to choose between her promise and the man who holds a piece of her heart?

Main Characters:

Alyce- As the main character of the book Alyce is very adventurous, and full of spunk! She loves the Lord and wants to share the gospel to those all around her but often her zeal gets her into trouble.

Webster- Webster is Alyce's closest friend and her father's mechanic. He is a normally quiet fellow with a kind heart.

Mr.Trodder- To me a very unlikable man. I never liked him during the whole book. In the beginning he comes across as a charming guy to some but in the end his true colors come out.

Alyce has a heart for people. And she has a heart for God! When a missionary comes to her town she feels the need to send money for their work. But she offers without really having the money. She quickly finds out raising 3,000 dollars in such a short amount of time is harder than she realizes and her last resort to get the money in time is to enter into a automobile race. Only she keeps this secret to herself and disastrous things happen because of it.

My thoughs:

I thought this was a delightful book well worth my time! I loved the main character, I enjoyed the story, and the author did a great job at writing a entertaining book. This is probably not one of my favorite books but is definitly something I'd recommend to you bookworms out there =)

My rating:

The best-- great--good-- It was OK -- not worth reading -- I hated it

Writing update

So I just thought I'd share an update with you all about my writing.
Unfortunately I haven't got much done lately with the extreme business with the move but finally things are starting to slowly get back to normal =) I'm going to talk a little about the book I've been writing called Once upon a secret. Well I've been thinking about it and I've come upon the conclusion that I'm really not satisfied with the name. At first I thought it sounded really cool but know I kind of think it's a bit I'm going to share some new names I thought up and I'd also REALLY APPRECIATE it if you all commented with any suggestions you might have.

My new ideas

Silent Shadows

Behind the Walls

 Untold Secrets

Hidden away

and at the moment Untold is probably my favorite one. So for those of you who haven't heard what my book is about I'll just post a short summary:
Tess has always been a curious person always searching for adventure...and often jumping to conclusions. But when she gets the feeling that her parents are hiding something from her she starts to investigate...but what she finds out shatters her. Has her parents been lying to her about her past all these years? And now that their secrets out Tess is in a lot more danger than she realized. Her life, her friends, and the whole kingdom depend on just one story-that's never been told. And if it is told...then life as she knows it will be gone forever.

So anyway I've been working on this book for over a year and have had very little progress. My biggest dream would to be able to get this book published someday. But anyway I've also started on a new story idea (terrible I know...I shouldn't start something if I haven't finished another) but i'm pretty excited about this book idea! I plan on writing more of it after I'm finished with my current story. But I'll just give a brief summary about it also.
Book title: The Pegasus
About: Kendra's sister was kidnapped by pirates when she was only a young girl. One unsettling thought has always haunted her mind and nightmares- What if she's still alive? When she finally finds a way to sneak aboard a pirate ship-with the young sailor Garrett- they journey across the dangerous seven seas with hopes to find the ship that took her sister away- The Pegasus

For some odd reason I've always wanted to write a book about pirates, etc. so now i think I finally have a storyline to do one =) the only thing I'm worried about is that this book will probably need a lot of research (about ships, sailing, etc.) But I still plan on doing it!

Well that's all for now guys! Hope you all have a GREAT week =)
