Plans//Update//Awesomeness

I finished school last week! YES. Oh yeah! So excited about summer. Like I mean SO excited.
And I made a summer goal list, which is scary...considering I'm such a terrible procrastinator and every time I make plans/goals  I usually never do them. Sad; I know. But...I'm going to work on that :) Hopefully...but anyway I thought I might as well share my goals/plans on here that way whenever you all think about it you can remind me to stay consistent with them!

Ok. Let's go:

1) Read my bible EVERY day. No exceptions. (I need to work on this. Ive been doing better but I need to do even better!)

2) Get fit. Loose weight. (I've been saying this forEVER but I have lost 10 pounds so far so that's a start :)

3) Really dedicate myself to piano (I have to partake in a competition at camp this year and oh my word I'm so freaking out in fright.)

4) *This is a big one guys* WRITE (almost) EVERY DAY. (my goal for this one is to write an average of 850 words a day, four times a week, and be able to have a good sized book finished by the end of summer (If you all want to hear more about this just comment and I'll do another blog post on it)

5) Spend more time outside (I've already been doing this. We've got LOTS of yard work going on at our house...)

6) Read some books I've been wanting forever but haven't got a chance to get yet (for instance Andrew Klavan's homelander series. I'm just dying to read them.)

7) Actually do my plans instead of them being just that...plans. I hope to make them reality.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
What are your guys plans for the summer?
Also I'm going on vacation next week! YIPPEE. Pretty excited. Well hope you all are having a good memorial weekend. Thanks for reading.
Things I've learned...
So I didn't know what to post today but I thought that it would be neat to do a post about the things I've learned over the years from movies, books, etc. So today I'm going to share some quotes and things that can really make an impact in your every day life. Now I normally do not support movies, entertainment things, etc. because I feel that there is always something negative in the world's entertainment and I don't want to advertise that kind of stuff. But I thought it would be good to share some of these things.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Bambi... I wish everyone would do this!
I don't know about you but for me Bambi was a total heart breaker for me as a kid. But beside that point I will always remember Thumper saying "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say nothin' at all." And can I say that is probably the best advice. Seriously! I can't even count how many times I might have said something unkind or uncaring and I've regretted it so bad. Always be kind with your words.

 words are life The Book Thief

Words are life.
This is so true. Words can be used so powerfully! They can bring forth life or break a life. This quote comes from the movie the book thief. Can I just say that everyone should see this movie. It literally changed the way I look at life. I've never seen a sadder movie though and I literally bawled my eyes out after watching it.

 Captain America quote
Stand up for what is right. My favorite super hero is by far captain America. He shows the real meaning to what our Country stands for but what it has lost sight of. We must stand for what we believe in. We must stand strong as soldiers not only for our country but for our God.

Lord of the Rings Quote from Gandalf <3-- this was one of my favorite quotes in the trilogy
This is oh so true. Sometimes we can't choose the things that happen to us. But we can choose how to handle them, and we can make a difference. "All we have to decides is what to do with the time that is given us." Make your life count. Do something today to make a difference for your future.

 "Every life is beautiful." October Baby, movie about an abortion survivor. It is touching and well-done. Stars John Schneider and Rachel Hendrix
This quote is from October Baby. An amazing movie about the power of love and forgiveness. Always remember that every life is beautiful. Treat everyone beautifully.

Alone Yet Not Alone by Tracy Leininger Craven

Alone yet not alone is an amazing story about two sisters who are kidnapped by Indians and they're amazing survival. This was probably one of the best books I ever read and I am SO excited about the movie coming out soon. I encourage you to look into reading this book. The message is so true and inspiring.

This song was written by Joni Eareckson  Tada  for the movie and I though I'd share the beautiful words on here:

I'm alone, yet not alone.
God's the light that will guide me home.
With His love and tenderness,
Leading through the wilderness,
And wherever I may roam,
I'm alone, yet not alone.

I will not be bent in fear.
He's the refuge I know is near.
In His strength I find my own.
By His faithful mercies shown.
That so mighty is His shield
All His love is now revealed.

When my steps are lost.
And desperate for a guide,
I can feel his touch,
A soothing presence by my side.

Alone, yet not alone.
Not forsaken when on my own.
I can lean upon His arm,
And be lifted up from harm.
If I stumble, or if I'm thrown,
I'm alone, yet not alone.

When my steps are lost.
And desperate for a guide,
I can feel his touch,
A soothing presence by my side.

By my side!

He has bound me with His love,
Watchful angels look from above.
Every evil can be braved,
For I know I will be saved.
Never frightened on my own,
I'm alone, yet not alone.

Alone yet not alone.

Through the Fire

Fire

So I was reading in the book of Daniel the other day and something just really jumped out at me that I thought I'd share with you all.

 Daniel 3:17- If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king.

I'm sure that many of you have heard the story about Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego and the burning furnace. I've heard this story many times and was always amazed by the wonderful courage and faith these three men possessed. As I was reading it recently, I really sat down and thought  about the meaning of this verse for the first time.
 We all go "through the fire" sometimes in life. Most of us have it pretty good, though. We've never had to choose to die for Christ by being given the choice to either serve him and die or bow down before an idol and live. Many Christians through history and even today have suffered greatly for the cause of Christ. We don't have to suffer like this...but we all still go through trials in life. I'd just like to give three points on how to "Go through the fires in life-knowing God is there with us."

1) Realize that we are not fire-proof

We are not fire-proof. That is for certain. Life just kind of knocks us on our knees sometimes. Just think about it this way-Imagine that you are stuck in the middle of a house that is on fire. All four walls around you are engulfed in flames. There is no way you can escape without burning up, but right in front of you there's a fire-proof uniform. If you put this on you'd be safe from the flames. We can compare this story to life. Supose you've just had a really terrible tragedy in your life. You've been burned-the fire is around you per say and Jesus is standing right beside you. Pleading with you to let him wrap his arms around you and to carry you through the flames. Yet, we rely on our own strength-not fully trusting in his. I think we do this often without even realizing it. God is standing right there telling us to fully trust in him but yet we're often so busy relying on our own strength that we don't realize he's standing, right there waiting for us to turn to him.

2) Realize that God is fire-proof
 Matthew 19:26 - But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.

We must realize that God is fire-proof. He can withstand anything and everything. We can't. We really don't have any strength on our own. Without him we are nothing. So often we depend on our selves and not on God. We think that we can do things on our own. Sometimes we might say "Lord I need your help. Could you please help me out here?" That prayer is not incorrect it's just incomplete. We don't just need God's help....he needs to be in full control. So often we are only partly trusting in God. It's like we believe he can help us but we don't believe that complete strength and power comes from him. Let's go back to that illustration I used. Let's say your in the room surrounded by flames and you see the fire-proof uniform. You run to it...but you only put it half on. What's going to happen? Your still going to burn. Maybe not as bad but your still going to burn. Your only half fire-proof. So let's say the uniform represents Christ. You may be trusting him but not completely. It's a split trust-between yourself and God.

3) Realize that we can <fully> trust in his protection

 Psalm 118:8 - It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man.

We can FULLY trust on Christ! Just think about Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego and the outstanding faith they put in Christ! They believed Christ could deliver them from the fire but not only that he could but that he would. They had to go through real flames! I don't think any of us will have to experience that. Our trials are not near what their's were, yet through all of that they're faith never withered in Christ. We must be like that. Our faith and trust must be completely dependent on Christ and not ourselves. We must fully trust in him, He can and he will carry us through the fire. We just got to trust and believe in him.

We are not fire-proof but Christ is. put your COMPLETE trust in him and he will deliver you. And through that you can impact so many others. Look at
Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego- through they're faith they turned the king away from his idols and the whole nation found out about our great God.

Have courage. Put your faith in Him.

Dogs. Life. & Summer

I saw this picture on Pinterest and I just thought it was the cutest thing. I just like love my dogs so much. They're literally like family and the most loyal animals.
One of my favorite dog quotes is:

"Dogs leave footprints on your heart and dog hair on your clothes."

And that statement is so true. Our white Shepard is loosing her winter coat and it's just like fur EVERYwhere.

....Alrighty so I know this is such a random post but I didn't really know what else to post about. so yeah....

Last night was the youth conference at our church! Had so much fun and enjoyed the preaching. Can't wait to have it again next year :) I'm especially looking forward to summer camp next month and finally getting out of school in a few weeks xD I've never looked forward to summer so much (I say that every year lol.)
When do you all get out of school? And what are you looking forward to this summer? This summer I'm starting to refinish furniture and then resale it at a flea market by us that provides free outdoor booths every Friday! So excited about this because I just love refurnishing stuff and it's so cool that I might get some profit off of it. Hopefully I'll get to post some pictures of my things I redo sometime. So far I got a: mini table, chair, mirror, and shelving/storage thing to redo. I got all of this stuff each for less than $5 and hope to sell it for a lot more profit! Can't wait to get it all finished :)

Sweet Dreams

/"Do you see that?" He whispered softly. His voice filled the silence in the room.
"See what?" I whisper trying not to awaken the girl.
"She's dreaming..." He says in a faraway voice.
I crinkle up my eyebrows in confusion, "How do you know?"
He looked at me. His eyes were a cloudy grey. His eyes were weary- he had suffered pain in life. But his eyes held on to something more. Hope.
He turned his eyes back on the girl. "Watch her." He said quietly. I turned my gaze onto the little girl. Her chest moved up and down evenly and her little arm clutched her stuffed pet. Her sweet little lips stood still. Her nostrils moving slightly with each breath. And then the girl smiled. The ends of her mouth turning up in a beautiful way. I smiled. "I see now. You say she's dreaming because she's smiling."
"No that's not why."
"Why then?"
"Because of the way she holds her pet. Softly yet with protection. If she was having a nightmare she'd be clutching it. If she was just sleeping she'd let it go. But she's dreaming. That means she needs her pet-not in fear but in love. We hold on to the ones we love."
I looked at the man in bewilderment, "You are different." I say. "You're not like the others here." I say gesturing to the group of homeless people around me.
"You're right." He says. He looks at me again. "I'm a dreamer. But I've had nightmares too. The difference between the two is in dreams you get to keep the people you love. In nightmares you loose them. But in both you still want to hold them close."
I nod. "I guess you are right."
The man stood up out of the old rickety seat he sat in. "I am. Don't ever under-appreciate the ones you love. You need loved ones to dream." and then he walked away. I could see his shoes; they were torn and dirty. I looked down at my own two feet. My shoes were the same. I looked around me at all the homeless people here. And I looked at us differently then I had before. We'd all lost something. Family. Friends. We'd had nightmares. But here we were still alive. Still hoping; still dreaming. Because we still had each other. And no matter how many nightmares knocked us down we'd stand up back together and just keep on dreaming.

Keep on loving.

I smiled to myself. Those man's words had been odd and unusual. But they were true. My eyes turned to the sweet girl still sleeping on the ground beside me."Sweet dreams my dear girl. Keep on loving. Keep holding on to hope. Keep on dreaming."

This wonderful life of mine

I had no idea what to post today (and I haven't posted for quite awhile) so i just thought i'd just do a little random post. Mostly a Pinterest raid, some news going on in my life, and some Q&A from some more blog awards and tags I've gotten.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Life is like a roller coaster. You can either scream every time there is a bump or you can throw your hands up and enjoy the ride.
Life has been quite wonderful for me lately. Yes, there are still difficult times and yes I still have my share of disappointments but God has just just put this joy and contentment in my heart. I''m so happy here in KY. We just moved here a few months ago and it was like the best thing that ever happened to me. Our new church is so wonderful. God's really been working on my heart through the messages and I just love working with the bus kids.
A few years ago I would have never imagined I'd be where I am today.
A few months ago I thought things would never work out for the good in my life.
But I was wrong.
So wrong.
Guys if your struggling with something and you think you're never going to make it,believe me, God is ALWAYS there. Even when you don't think he is. Our timing is not God's timing. It took me awhile to realize that but now I do. If things had gone the way I planned it I wouldn't have been where I am today.
 As I look back on my life, I realize that every time I thought I was being rejected from something good I was actually being re-directed to something better.
But God always had a plan, a purpose, and even though a few months back I didn't see his plan I see it now. And I believe. I believe that through it all he'll take care of me and that I can always trust in him.
He's got it in control.
He always has; and he always will.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

So ^ I didn't plan on writing all that but it was something on my heart and I just thought I'd get it out.

So Friday I learned how to sew (kind of) YAY! I've never known how to sew anything but this wonderful lady at our church has started teaching me and my mom how to sew :) I actually really enjoyed it and can't wait to learn more!
  Also I don't know if many of you all know this but I love to redo furniture. And this weekend I found a chair for $1 at a yard sale and I also got a $1 mini table xD So I'm pretty excited. Can't wait to redo them and resale them for more profit!

This weekend our youth group is having a youth rally at our church =D So excited! There'll be like tons of teenagers from different churches coming and I'm just pretty thrilled about it. Can't wait to hear some good preaching, fellowship with other teens, and just have a great time.

Well I think that's all the news.......
Some people make your laugh a little louder, your smile a little brighter, and you life a little better.
^ This is just so true. I am just so thankful for the people God has put in my life. I know so many wonderful people it's amazing. The best feeling in the world is to be with a few friends that your just so comfortable with that it doesn't matter what your doing they make it fun! I love being with people. Especially the ones who I know just love me for me and love Christ.
 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
OK now for the random Pinterest raid =D
YES! Oh my goodness it kills me sometimes wondering about this.
1. What is your view on boyfriend/girlfriend relationships?
I believe that our sociaty has given the copletely wrong standard for dating, relashionships, etc. I believe that a relashionship between a girl and a boy should be taken seriously and not lightly. I don't believe in the world's view of "dating" but I believe in God's way-courting or also known as "dating with a purpose." I think so many girls think their in love with a guy at a young age and start in a relashionship which very often doesn't last. Soon they find another guy they like, then another, and then another. Dating is like saying "I'm going to just be in a relashionship with every guy I think I like until I find the right one." We shouldn't do this. I believe we should wait and pray very carefully before persuing a relashionship. It's a very serious matter and can not be handled lightly.
2. What is the most awesome song you have ever heard?
Oh I have so many. I can't just pick one!
3. If there is one person you could meet, who would it be?
The Duggars
4. How old were you when you were saved?
five
5. What is your biggest pet peeve?
arrogant people
6. What was the most embarrassing moment of your life?
*giggles nervously* too embarrassing to put on here....lol. I have some pretty terrible ones.
7. What was the sweetest thing a little kid has ever said to you?
Well...I had one little girl tell me I was pretty and that made my day. But when a little kid tells you they love you...well it's just the best feeling on Earth!
Ok guys please don't kill me for this EXTREMELY long post. lol; but hopefully you enjoyed at least some of it!
