Our Generation

"We are the next generation-We'll reach our world for Christ as we follow our commander,a blessing in our lives, to a world that's lost and dying in need of hope and light as a mighty army we will go forth to reach our world for Christ!'

~ Lyrics from the song To reach our world for Christ

This post is for all of you teens out there who want to make a difference in our generation. For those of you who see that there is a need for our generation to turn back to Christ!

Our generation is a generation of teens who have turned their backs on God and are living for self. Yet there are few who have the courage to stand up and make a difference. In a world of teenagers that are living in sin and for themselves will you be the one to step out of the crown and say "I'm not afraid to stand up for Christ?"

Today I just want to share some things that our generation is missing and that yet we all need.

3 Things our generation is missing

  1. Respect- A thing that so many things teens have lost is respect. Respect for God, the bible, and their elders. In this day and age teens are rebellious and think that life is all about having fun and living it up. They want to rebel against all authority and live the way they want to. The respect people have for God is so sad. They openly use his name in vain and mock him. But Christians also have lost respect for God. Respect is also having reverence. We've lost sight of both of these things. God deserves utmost respect but yet we treat him as if he's something small and unimportant in life. Another thing teens have no respect for is elderly people. They don't ever take time to show them kindness or take time to show respect. Teens are too focused on what other young people think of them that they don't even give any concern or thought towards adults. Can I just say that elderly people have the best advice on life in the universe and that their opinion of you matters more than any young person. Adults watch young people and they can tell the godly ones apart from the worldly ones. If you're looking for advice on how to serve God I'm telling you the best advice you can get is from those older, faithful servants of Christ. Take time to get to know the older people in your church. Be a blessing to them. Respect them.

2.Character- character is important. Very important. I once saw a thing that said great character is determined by the kindness someone does for someone else who can give them nothing in return. one of my favorite quotes on character is:
Be more concerned with your character than your reputation, because your character is what you really are, while your reputation is merely what others think you are.
Character is who you are when no one is watching. Teens now-a-days change like the wind. Around some people they act a certain way and around other people, a different way. We must stand steadfast in the Lord. People with good character have integrity; their humble, kind, and honorable. A person of good character will shine bright for the Lord no matter what comes their way.

3.Boldness- We need to be bold for Christ. the bible says in: Rom.1:16-For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth. Our generation needs to be more bold. Do people know you are a Christian? They should know you are by your character but they need to know by your boldness. Speak out! We need more teenagers that will lift up their voice and be God's messenger. Speak out. Speak up. Speak now. Be a bold witness for Christ. Don't be ashamed to stand up for what you believe in. I know some of us are shy...I know sometimes it's hard to speak up but after all God's done for us don't you think the least we can do is speak up for him? Phil.4:13 says-  I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. God will grand you the boldness to spread his word. You just got to be willing to do it.

Are you ready to be a light for our generation? Are you ready to speak out? To make a difference? Last week I had an amazing week at camp and the theme was-Are you ready for the call? Are you ready for God's call in your life? God can do amazing things through us to reach our generation. We just got to be willing!

Hope that was a blessing to some of you. God's really been working on my heart more than ever to help reach my generation! I hope this was a help to some of you like it was to me.

P.S. For all of you who have been emailing me about blog designs I'm so sorry I haven't gotten back to you! Hopefully I'll get back on schedule soon :)

Keep shining bright
