Life Happenings

 Paris by Irene Suchocki
Life has been....quite busy to say the least. The last couple of weeks have gone by so fast it's unbelievable! Do you ever feel like life is just going by way too fast and you can barely catch up? It reminds me about the bible verse: James 4:14- Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away. Our life is short so we must try to do as much for Christ as we can.
You only live once, but if you do it right once is enough
So I didn't really know what to post about today but I figured I should probably post something or else you all would think I dropped off the face of the Earth. I don't have time to post much at all but I thought I'd give you a little highlight on what's going on with my right now.

This Sunday my church is taking a group to Maryland to pass out 40,000 portions of scripture in only 4 days! I'm really looking forward to this trip and can't wait. Next Friday our group will also be touring Washington D.C. If any of you are trying to get a design by me next week, etc. I will not be available!

Sorry for not posting more in recent weeks. I really wish I had more time but it's been extremely busy. I've been really active at church with teaching a new class and all (loving it :) and I've also been working on my kid's resale which I think I've told you all about also! Hopefully when I get back from Maryland I'll have more time to post! Please keep the missions team in your prayers.

Only Skin deep

But you can see a sliver of soul through a persons eyes.

True beauty. What is it? Where is it found? I want you to think about the most beautiful person you know. Just think about it for a second. It might be the popular girl you see at school, maybe a friend, or maybe just a girl that's in your youth group. Maybe you're even thinking of a gorgeous celebrity who you've been comparing your self to since you were a kid.
I don't know who you just thought of, but my guess is that the first person that came to your mind was a beautiful girl...on the outside. Maybe she has amazing hair, shining eyes, and a fit body. But true beauty is not found on the outside-it's not just skin deep.

Beauty is not found on the outside but is found in the deepest parts of the soul.

True beauty is not found in the person who's strikingly gorgeous, fit, or popular. It's in the humble heart of a person who's willing to do anything for another person. It's found deep within the soul. True beauty is sometimes not seen, it's sometimes overlooked. Many times our society is looking for the new most physically perfect person, the world puts pressure on what you look like on the outside and doesn't focus on the inside. 1 Samuel 16:7- Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart.
I know that as a girl, we often compare ourselves to other girls. We look at someone who's more attractive then we are, and we begin to be discouraged.  We begin to even be more negative about who we are, and what we look at.

It doesn't matter how thin your body is, how shiny and pretty your hair is, or if your eyes sparkle bright enough. It doesn't matter if you have braces, or if you have to wear glasses you feel awkward in. It doesn't matter if you have acne or if you have an uneven skin tone.
What matters is what's on the heart and that's what God cares about in us.

We can't change what we look like on the outside, but we can choose who we are on the inside.

Beauty is not based on what man sees but on what God sees. Wouldn't you rather please God than man? Wouldn't you rather have beauty that starts on the inside and shines around you to others?
Think again about that question I asked before- who is the most beautiful person you know? It's not the girl that's pretty on the outside but it's the one that might be standing on the sidelines. It might be the girl who is a servant to others, always willing to help someone out. Let's be that girl. We're all going to die someday.  I don't want to get to Heaven some day and realize that my life on Earth wasn't focused on having a beautiful heart and soul, but just on the outward. Beauty within will take you a lot farther then beauty on the outside ever will.

Don't compare your looks to a celebrity but compare your heart to God.

Look for someone this week that you believe has a beautiful heart and tell them "You're beautiful." We need more people who are determined to be inwardly beautiful. Let's strive to be the one God would have us to be.

Always remember that if beauty is only skin deep it isn't worth a thing. It's the inside that matters.  We can only have that kind of beauty by having a walk with Christ.
We need to let Him shine through us!
